Privacy policy

KaliStudio (app.kalistudio.app) is a private production tool operated by Akintunde Akinbo (hello@kalistudio.app). It is used only by its operator, to research, produce and publish videos for the operator's own YouTube channels. There is no public sign-up: a single allow-listed account can sign in.

YouTube API Services

KaliStudio uses YouTube API Services. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Use of KaliStudio is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.

What KaliStudio accesses

The operator's own YouTube channels, after the operator signs in with Google and grants access: the channel's id and title; uploading, scheduling and updating the operator's own videos, thumbnails and playlists; and YouTube Analytics reports for those videos (views, watch time, impressions, click-through rate, subscribers gained, audience retention).
Public YouTube data, through the YouTube Data API: the titles, links, channel names, descriptions and view counts of recent public videos that match the channel's research searches, shown to the operator as research leads.

KaliStudio does not download, store or transcribe YouTube videos, captions or audio, and does not scrape YouTube.

How it is used

Only to produce and publish the operator's videos and to learn which of them work: nothing is published without the operator's explicit approval. Research leads are ranked by Anthropic's Claude models; that is the only third party YouTube data is sent to, as a processor for this purpose. YouTube data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or shown to anyone other than the operator.

Storage and security

Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database (Supabase), in object storage (Cloudflare R2, EU) and on a server in Germany (Netcup). The Google refresh token is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is stored, with a key kept outside the database; short-lived access tokens are held in memory only.

Retention and deletion

Public YouTube data is kept for at most 30 days, then deleted or refreshed from the API.
Analytics for the operator's videos are kept while the channel stays connected; access is re-checked every week.
When access is revoked, in KaliStudio (Settings → Disconnect) or in the Google Account permissions page, the stored token is deleted at once (or at the next weekly check) and all data obtained through that access is deleted within 7 days.

Cookies

One sign-in session cookie for the operator. No advertising or tracking cookies.
